Old Town gets nearly all of Ohrid's attention, but the lake's shoreline is dotted with smaller villages worth a slower afternoon — quieter, less touristed, and often where you'll find the best unobstructed lake views.
Trpejca
A tiny fishing village on the lake's southern shore, reachable by a scenic coastal drive — known for clear water and a handful of simple, excellent fish restaurants right on the water.
Peštani
Home to one of the lake's most popular sandy beaches, roughly 15 minutes south of Ohrid — a good alternative to the busier town beaches in summer.
Radožda
A cliffside village near the Albanian border, with a rock-cut church (Sveti Bogorodica Zaumska) accessible only by a short boat ride — one of the lake's more atmospheric, lesser-visited sights.
Planning a village day
A rental car or scooter makes exploring these villages far easier than relying on infrequent local buses — the full southern shoreline drive from Ohrid to Radožda takes about an hour each way, with stops.
